We had to work out how to translate a normal four-legged animation walk cycle over to a 10-legged one and then we had to do various walks and run cycles at different speed and see which ones worked. The first was that, unlike a normal crocodile, it had 10 legs the second was its size, the crocodile was meant to be over 30 feet long. Nicolas Hernandez : We had two big challenges here. In the other sequences the crocodiles had to swim underwater and thrash around after eating a couple of sailors who are pushed from a boat.įired By Design : What was the biggest challenge in bringing it to life? Curly wakes the crocodile up and another one of the lost boys runs across the beach and leads the crocodile inland and into a trap where it is then killed by an army of indians. The sequences start on the beach and as an initiation Curly, one of the lost boys, has to approach the sleeping crocodile. Nicolas Hernandez : The crocodile did a lot of running!
